In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the U.S. National Park Service, National Geographic Your Shot will launch multiple assignments about parks—each one covering a different aspect of national parks all over the world.
We have the honor to guide and edit one assignment in this series titled "Landmark moments" that was launched earlier this week. For this assignment, we asked the members of the Your Shot community to enter landscape images from national parks located anywhere in the world. A surprising interpretation of a less scenic landscape is just as good in this assignment as an image that captures the magic of a spectacular landmark.
Enter you images here and see the final story on the same link in March.
The individual assignments will be chapters of a larger, global story that will be curated by Senior Editor Kathy Moran at the end of the year.
Since 2005, we have traveled together as a team, constantly being on the move to explore and photograph landscapes and wildlife, with special interest in the Nordic countries. Our projects capture different parts of the "Cap of the North", in a never-ending search for surprising scenes and the magic light that is so characteristic of this region. It is the desire to get back to our roots — to live with nature that inspires us to create the images that we do.
We are members of The Photo Society, a group of contributing photographers for National Geographic Magazine.
